Jane C. Hurley, M.S., Arizona State University

Jane Hurley is a Ph.D. candidate in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences at Arizona State University. Supported by the mentorship of Dr. Marc Adams, her research interests span multiple levels of influence from the built environment of physical activity and nutrition behaviors, and through to individual level goal setting and reinforcement strategies. Bridging the disciplines of behavior and geography, Jane is also completing a certificate in Geographic Information Systems to understand where health behaviors occur and for what reasons. Her dissertation topic, “Walkability Around the Worksite and Physical Activity” aims to understand how the work neighborhood environment impacts physical activity.
